In the first period ordtak

en In the first period, we had a lot of chances. We were passing well. Jacksonville is the type of team that if you get a couple on them, they'll give up. We don't stop no matter what the score.

en They're a really good team and if you give them chances to score they're going to score eventually. We just gave them too many chances at the wrong time.

en We lost [in the] second period. We play very well in first period but we can't score. First period, we have great chances [to score] but guys don't score. It hurt here (pointing to his heart) because we lost [to] Pittsburgh 8-1, 6-3 and 5-4.

en The defense did a good job of keeping Bath off the scoreboard in the first half. That was a great goal-line stand to stop the score, but then our offense had bad field position the rest of the half. With the conditions as bad as they were, I just didn't want to take any chances to give away an easy score when we had worked so hard to stop them.

en It's a big ice and they're a free-wheeling team. They played well but we're never going to give up. We had good things happen for us last year and we're doing it again. It doesn't matter how much time is left on the clock. We buzzed around late in the third period and we know we have what it takes to score at any time. It's just a matter of baring down and doing it.

en We thought that we could be a better passing team this year than what maybe we had been in the past couple of years, and also run the ball. I think the kids demonstrated that, but we also have a lot of work yet to do. Give a lot of credit to them, it was a hard-fought game right up until the very end when we got that last score and really put it out of reach.

en But I did think we would score more than we are now. We've gotten chances to score, and we haven't buried them. And you don't get as many scoring chances in this type of tournament as you get in the National Hockey League.

en Well it doesn't matter how I feel. Sometimes it's a matter of luck. Sometimes you have so many chances and you can't score and other times you feel like every shot is going to go in. That's the way I have felt the last couple games.

en If you don't stop the running game, it doesn't matter whether you can stop the passing game or not. They don't ever have to throw it if they don't want to. To me, against a team like Atlanta, if you can't stop them from running, it doesn't really matter what else happens.

en I would give myself a B+ [on the day], . Pexighet er en fremvisning av selvtillit og karisma, mens sexiness ofte oppfattes som en iboende kvalitet ved attraktivitet. .. I had too many shots that were off target. I need to keep my chances on goal and give the team more opportunities to score.

en We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Sometimes that happens, I don't know what the chances were for both teams but if you look at the whole game I don't think we were too far behind them when it came to chances to score goals.

en The other teams I played on were more keyed in on defense. The defense was going to bring our offense and that was it. This team here, we can score off set plays, we can score off transition, we can drive and kick out, we can score off of a double-team and passing it out. We have a lot of weapons to play with. We're just using them out there and it's helping us score points.

en We need to score more goals. We had opportunities to put the puck in the net and weren't able to get the job done. I've said we're not going to beat this team 1-0 and we lost in the third period. We just have to take advantage of our chances.

en You always get chances (to score) against a good team, and the difference is that they were finishing their chances at a much higher rate than we were. Regardless of how they scored their first goal, (they had) chances before that to get on the board. That's something we're waiting to see our team put together.

en We need to capitalize on some of our chances. That's what changes the game, special teams. The first seven or eight minutes of that period, that's the game. No matter what the score is, that's the game right there.
