You look for undervalued stocks by looking at industries that have been overlooked.

I continue to think that, as a region, the Pacific Rim looks good. Brazil is still undervalued. Stocks from the U.K. and New Zealand are undervalued.

A lot of the distinctions that are taken as conventional wisdom, or even gospel, don't necessarily make a lot of sense to us. For example, growth stocks can be undervalued, and value stocks can be overvalued.

Many of the large-cap tech stocks, including Intel, are undervalued. Any move strengthening their position in the market, makes their stocks more attractive.

[Even so, he thinks oil exploration and production stocks may still be worth a look. Some of the stocks are trading as if oil is $50 a barrel whereas] oil is at $65 right now, ... So even if oil prices were to fall back, that sub-sector would still be undervalued.

You know, people really have not been buying into these stocks lately, ... They're extremely undervalued. Remember one thing: they own the first mile to every customer that's out there. When they get into long distance, which they will eventually late this year and early next year, they're going to be powerhouse stocks.

The most undervalued stocks today are large-caps.

Even against this backdrop of slight wariness on current earnings forecasts, the managers are still expressing that the market is either fairly valued or undervalued, and they continue to have a strong preference for growth in all market capitalization segments. Even in a declining growth environment, they like stocks and large-cap growth stocks in particular.

Right now, tech stocks are about 20 percent undervalued. While I wouldn't be surprised if some profit-taking took place, we still see a lot of upside.

In China, we stress a portfolio focused on domestic stocks and certain market leading consumer stocks in industries where there has been consolidation. Banks are also interesting, with good credit growth, the probability for increased fee income and implementations of cost cutting measures. Valuations may not be cheap but still appear attractive.

I could sit around all day picking stocks I know would return 10% to 15% per year, but that's boring and not very profitable. Finding undervalued or 'forgotten' companies is what makes investing fun.

I think there are still property stocks that are undervalued because the story is no longer just about Singapore. Many listed developers now earn a large part of their revenues from abroad.
