en While it would be nice to qualify all our wrestlers for the district tournament, moving 20 wrestlers forward is a realistic goal. We are very fortunate to be returning several USAW Kansas Kids and high school state champions and medalists to this tournament series. We expect to have several of our wrestlers medal high at subs.

en Because those involved in the '98 and '99 tournaments set such a high standard, obviously we want to do the tournament justice. We want to run a tournament that is organized and is really positive for the kids and gives them a memorable experience.

en This is the usually the first tournament where most of the teams will have their full rosters with their high school players. Clinton had a tournament last weekend that some of the clubs played in, but this is the first real big one.

en We get to go into the tournament on a high note. We had to get a 'W' today to get our focus right going into the tournament.

en When I come to a tournament I set really high goals and I come here to do the best I can. I don't know if I'm being rude if I win my own tournament, but I'm just a very competitive person and I love to do well. Today was a step in the right direction and one of my better rounds in about a month so I feel really good.

en We did hit a rough stretch and I don't think we're still completely over it. But we're starting to hit more shots and one thing that showed throughout the tournament is we've been pretty good defensively.

en We had a difficult time out there today. Parts of the course were soaked, making it rough to play on. But we're going to get it done tomorrow and hopefully be able to move up into the top-5 in the tournament.

en It started off rough, but I hadn't really had a bad break the whole tournament up to that point. I just told myself I was going to have to grind it out the rest of the day and, overall, I'm pretty happy.
