Defensively, you can't give up the big pass. We're set up to keep the ball thrown underneath us. We were unable to do that today.

We didn't need to force the ball. We had timeouts left and probably could have thrown something underneath.

All you've got to do is give him a chance. He's a 7-foot high jumper, so not every ball's got to be thrown to him on the run. If he's got a mismatch on a corner, let the kid jump up and get it. And we work on how to throw the ball to give him that opportunity.

I felt going into those playoffs that we hadn't thrown the ball very well and for us to make a run we had to throw the ball better. This year, coming into the playoffs, I think it was reversed. We had thrown the ball much better, but we had to run the ball more efficiently.

The defense did dominate, and I think we have an opportunity to be an outstanding defensive team. We ran the ball a little better today than we have in the spring, but we didn't pass and catch the ball very well. That was the big thing today. Our defense had a great day today.

The last couple of games, we kind of got away from [giving Wayne the ball]. You've got to give him the ball. He does great things down there, which allows open shots for myself, Keith, J.R., and [forward] Christian [ Moody ] underneath.

I was watching the Senior Bowl film and saw him catch a touchdown pass. It was that same great adjustment to the ball (like Santana Moss) on a ball that was thrown over his head and to the outside. He reached at the last second to catch it.

You have to position the ball underneath the holes, because the greens are really quick and really good. In order to take advantage of this course, you have to be able to putt aggressive and that means keeping the ball underneath the hole and having uphill putts where you can stay aggressive all the way throughout a round.

This was a little more of a mix with run and pass. We were rough around the edges, but I think it was productive. At least we got some passes thrown today. I was kind of fired up about that.

Anytime you win, it's a good win. But we didn't play very well. Offensively, we were getting underneath the ball and hitting in the air a lot. And defensively, we made a couple of mistakes that hurt us. We're going to have to shape some things up by Thursday and Saturday.

I was very happy with our early progress today, we were able to move up from 17th place into fifth and I was making a move to pass two cars ahead of me. Something happened where they collided and I was unable to avoid their collision. The damage to our nose cone was too extensive to continue. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. It's a real shame as I was very confident we could succeed today.

He hasn't thrown the ball exceptionally well in the last two weeks, but he's thrown the ball well at times. And we've known since Day 1 that it's the consistency we've got to find with him.

Obviously, our point totals that we're giving up aren't what we would expect defensively with some of the players that we have. But in all fairness, the turnovers are the big issue. Defensively, you're going to give up points when you're turning the ball over and giving the other team more opportunities (and) that's what we've been doing.

If that vital spark that we find in a grain of wheat can pass unchanged through countless deaths and resurrections, will the spirit of man be unable to pass from this body to another?

Our offensive off-ball moment was creating opportunities today. Our sweeper (Ben Conrad) did a good job defensively for us today as well.
