en When you play for this organization, it's in your blood. The fans bleed black and gold and so do the players who have worn that uniform. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

en I’m here. I’m just glad to be back, ... I’m very passionate about football and just driving back to the stadium today, seeing all the fans in their black and gold, a lot of chills went through my body. For me, this whole holdout situation was to show good faith to an organization and (respect) their policy that they don’t negotiate with players under contract (who are not in camp).

en When it's done, that's the right time. When it happens, I'm sure it will catch me off-guard and I'll be happy. And if it doesn't happen, I'll have to do what I have to do. I just want to put on the uniform and do what I do. It's the fans that make me play the way I play. When I get the energy out of right field, especially in the Yankees uniform, those fans make me do what I do. I couldn't have played with one arm in Colorado. You can't motivate me enough to do that. Only the Yankees fans bring that out of me.

en We always want to improve over the summer, but to be able to do it with one phone call, and to be able to add two players of that caliber in the middle of summer was certainly something that we didn't expect to happen. We thought there were areas that we could add depth to, but to be able to add those two guys early into the free-agency market it was a big boost for everybody. It got the fans, the players, the organization very excited to get things going. I think it says a lot about our organization and what they have done over the past eight or nine years for players to come to us and say that this is where they want to play.

en There is a standard, as to how a player is to wear his uniform. There is a standard in all sports as to how a uniform is to be worn and our standard is that the shorts, in particular, are to be worn above the knee.

en We have an unbelievable fan base. You go around the country and pull into hotels, there is always black and gold and Steelers fans hollering. There is no question it goes back to the rich tradition this team has and this organization built back in the '70s. What we are seeing now is the second generation of that fan base. It's great.

en Over 400 players have worn the Bulldog uniform since 1930 and these 15 distinguished individuals represent the best in UMD basketball. The impact they've had on our program is immeasurable.

en You think about it sometimes. I hope I get a chance to play again. But whatever happens, I'm real proud to have worn this uniform and played with these guys.

en We're going to anything we need to do to strengthen our organization. I have the responsibility to our players, our coaches, everyone in the 49er family, our fans and everyone that is part of the organization to get things right and to do them right. en I had heard other players say 'when you play in St. Louis, you don't want to leave,' ... When you consider it, playing here is a no-brainer. It's awesome, from the organization to the manager, to the coaches to the fans. The main focus here is on winning.

en The frustration, the angst -- anger, if you will -- of the fans right now is matched only by the coaches and the players and the organization. It's very frustrating, very angering to not play better, to not do a couple of those things that you have to win in a close game.

en I do want my fair market value, ... The Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens numbers out there are ridiculous. I wouldn’t try to ask for that. Not to say that I’m any less of a player than those guys but I know how this organization is run, how the offense is, for me, it’s all about getting the opportunity to start his career in one place and end his career in one place; and what a better place to do it than in the Black and Gold. That’s all I want is a commitment from this organization that I can retire as a Steeler.
