en I was basically kicked off the team. There was an incident after the Mount Vernon game [on Friday]. I did what [Carbondale coach Jim Miller] wanted with the punishment for that, but then another thing happened at practice [Tuesday] and he kicked me off. I haven't talked to him since. en Yeah, basically we have to come out and dominate. We're Mount Vernon so they're out to make a name for themselves. We had to reestablish that. Last year was a big upset for me. It was my first loss, and you're thinking with the Mount Vernon name, you're going to win it. But we lost it. Now it's back.

en We really haven't been scoring enough. There is nothing like scoreboard pressure. It's one thing to be seven goals behind but, if you have kicked eight and they have kicked 15, for instance, you have at least done some scoring. But if you are that far behind and are not scoring, it is really hard to keep morale up.

en It's nice to have veterans on your team who can take the game over when the coach gets kicked out of the game. And Anthony Goldwire showed why he played in the NBA for so long.

en The critical thing in my view, when you look at the whole thing is, we kicked the field goal to take the lead and they go 62 yards for a touchdown in three plays. We talked all week about giving up big plays. You can't do it against any team, particularly against Pittsburgh.

en Football is a game of skill, we kicked them a bit and they kicked us a bit.

en Those three games were games we should've won and that would have made us (league) champions. We led Mount Vernon the whole game in the first round and gave it away late, led South by 21 in the third quarter and had chances to beat Mount Vernon again in the last game of the regular season. The South loss was especially devastating (to league-title hopes).

en I'd just like to forget the whole thing ever happened. We just got our butts kicked.

en I think this is the first time they really got to see him and be fair to him. I don't think they've been fair to him before. He's been unbelievable other times before, but then you get kicked out of the Olympics, you get kicked out of the World Cup - if you don't win anything, you don't get the same publicity and all that. So, just the fact he got to make that big shot in the final on the game-winning goal, that just made everything come true.

en This was a good win. Mount Vernon hasn't played against the option ahead of time and that was the big difference. They tried to defend us in different way. We figured they would try to mimic our game from last week and they did. We worked on it as well. We weren't looking for any one thing to exploit. We just wanted to work hard and get better ourselves. We did a good job of that.

en We talked about it all week in practice that we killed this team last time and wanted to go in like an official game. We wanted to practice our stuff like the playoffs.

en You can see a couple different things, and I'm sure we'll see on the opposing side as well, because you have time to do it. Basically, on a game week, you have Tuesday and Wednesday to practice. Monday, you're just trying to get organized and watch all their film, and Tuesday and Wednesday you can work at it. We've had three good weeks of looking at things we wanted to.

en I didn't curse him. I hadn't talked to him the whole game. Obviously he thought I went over the line and that's his prerogative. Those things happen. It's the first game I got kicked out.

en He's been pretty good each game he's pitched, but we've kicked it around in the field and not gotten a lot of timely hits. He's deserved better, and (Friday) night, he got it.
