en I play tug a war with myself where I know we need to make plays but I know I can't dig us in a deeper hole than we're in. But to be honest, I don't know where I stand with it. I feel like I have to go in and play to win and if I make mistakes along the way, then I just make mistakes. After 15 years, I've been successful doing it a certain way. I have to play smarter at times, but in times like this you just let it go. And if it's enough to win, great; if not, so be it. You have to play to win every time you step out there.

en We have to take care of the ball better. I think in spurts we did a poor job of taking care of the basketball and they weren't even pressuring us. Sometimes we just play so fast that we make mistakes that we don't mean to make. I think we need to limit the amount of times that we do that because they have some great players on offense and they're going to get things done. We have to be just as efficient on offense as they are.

en I would rather they go out and kick our butt with honest hits and get 10 hits and beat us 6-1. It is a bitter pill to go out and play badly, run the bases badly and make errors.

en I'm going to make errors. That comes with the territory. I felt there were times last year when I was playing not to make mistakes, not playing aggressive. At third base, you have to play aggressive. You're going to make errors. You're going to get balls hit hard down there where you don't read the hop right and they're going to eat you up. But you have to maintain your aggressiveness; you can't start back-pedaling. Most of your moves have to be going in.

en It came down to making some defensive stops and executing on offense.

en Just attack and make the play. I was able to get by my guy, and my first thought was get to the basket, and if someone stops you, try and kick it out to the open guy.

en You just gotta play. You've got to be aggressive at all times. If you feel like you have an opportunity to step up and knock down a shot, you've got to knock it down. If you have an opportunity to penetrate and finish the play, you have to finish. If there's a penetrate-and-kick situation, you've got to kick it out. I think he understands. He's just not playing the way he's capable of playing right now.

en I told the girls at halftime that it would be the team that made the most mistakes would be the one to lose and we made a couple mistakes. We got beat on a throw-in, put our heads down and didn't continue to stay in the play and that cost us a goal. We let Smith get in behind us - she's very fast - a few times. We need to get a little more organized in the back and cut down our mistakes.

en Teddy is a terrific weapon and we want to get the ball in his hands as often as possible, ... The majority of his play will come on offense, but he gets a great break on the ball so there will be times in the red zone where we will utilize him on defense, too. With Maurice Hall (the school's all-time leader in kick return yardage) gone, we will use him on both punt and kick returns. He and Santonio (Holmes) give us two very dangerous weapons back there.

en I think for the most part, the times they made runs were able to get back on defense and make some stops. But we didn't make as many stops in a row as we wanted to and needed to.
