But I'd probably go through this and not feel as bad about the situation if I knew my kids left everything out there on the court, but they haven't done that this week. I've been trying to tell them 'you need to be focused.' This isn't how my girls play tennis.

We've been really fortunate with our top lineup, No. 1, 2 and 3, the kids that are really committed to their tennis, that play tennis an average of five days a week, that really make a true commitment to this sport.

Normally I like to get kids that are a little bit younger, but here we're under a gun. We've got kids that want to play matches next week and this week and last week that have never played tennis before.

We're pretty good, and we were very focused heading into last week. We've got a pretty good offense and we're really ready to play. Our kids didn't miss a beat last week and we haven't in four of the five games this season.

The kids responded after last week. We really focused this week on coming out early and starting fast. I feel like the kids did that. Once we got on a roll, it was tough for Mississippi State to get going.

We didn't really have the greatest day. Our girls are behind, they haven't hit as much just because of our court situation.

We left here last year, and we knew we had four starters gone. Those kids really stepped up. They're so fun to be around regardless of the wins and losses.

I really think it is going to in the long run make me a better player giving you the perspective of being out on the court knowing that it's not the end of the world if you lose and that gives you the opportunity to go after your shots a little more, ... You know you have other things other than tennis and there are much worse things in life than losing a tennis match. So it will give me a better perspective, a little more calm on the court. Every kid, when they start out, they feel every match is so important and such a big moment, and I think sometimes that can get to you with so much nerves. Now I don't feel that nearly as much.

They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

If you're top 10 in the world, it's not like you are going to be a slosh on a hard court, ... I knew I'd have to come out there and play my best tennis, and fortunately, I did.

I felt very relaxed going on the court. I managed to play my best tennis in the biggest match of the week.

Winning sure makes everything more exciting. I thought we played very well. We've been stressing ever since September what it's like to compete, to play smart tennis and not just go for everything. We wanted to play basic tennis and the girls did a really good job of that today.

We knew it was going to be a battle. They wanted to avenge their loss up there. I wasn't sure how the girls would handle the game, since it was their third in a week plus it being the end of the quarter, but they were ready and kept fighting. You could feel the energy from the fans right from the start, and I think that helped the girls tremendously!

When we got up to 60 points with five minutes left to go in the third quarter, and with what some of those kids have been through the last week, I thought we needed to get the game over with as soon as we could and let them get home and not try to ruin their season. Some of those kids haven't heard from all of their family members.

Acting with Denzel is like playing tennis with someone that's better than you. You either play better tennis or get blown off the court.
