en It's a completely different show than what we did in the '70s. All you have to do is watch and you'll find out. Back then, it was pie throws and all the silly kind of comedy.
  Marie Osmond

en [Although the new show is, like their old one, intended to appeal to the whole family,] It's a completely different show than what we did in the '70s, ... All you have to do is watch and you'll find out.

en I realize I'm going against the grain, doing a fully produced CD of comedy sketches and music at a time when the only comedy recordings are basically standup. But it's the kind of comedy records I grew up on and ... (have) always been kind of my favorite.
  Harry Shearer

en We're finding that there's a lot of fans who used to watch 'The Donny & Marie Show,' in the '70s, but there's a lot of young people, and... it's broadened. That's the kind of show we want to put together, something that the whole family can watch together.

en I have done a sketch show almost every year since I started in 1975. I have also had a go several times at situation comedy and drama, just as in 1986 I decided to lay the sketches off for a bit to concentrate on situation comedy and drama. I am NOT giving up comedy. I love doing stand-up comedy and characters.

en I never wanted to be pigeonholed as one style of comedy. I want to be the kind of person you have a random back-and-forth with at a party.
