We're hitting the ball solid. We've been hitting the ball solid for the last couple of games. The bats answered the call tonight.

They had kept us off when we were hitting the ball up but not hitting it out. The kids were getting solid hits. They are getting a hold of it when [the pitch] is slower because then they can see it, but that also means that then they can be more patient and disciplined when they are hitting. And they are getting better at it.

He didn't have any crazy shots. There were no chip-ins. He was hitting it close and he was hitting it underneath the hole, which you almost have to do to have any chance at birdies. It was really just a great, solid ball-hitting round.

We brought the bats out of the closet today. We've really been hitting the ball well in the last couple of games.

Baker really pitched a solid game tonight. We only hit one ball hard until the eight inning there. We just need to learn from that and do a better job of hitting when we face him again in two more weeks.

We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

The defense has been real solid, and I feel real good about our pitching. And for the most part, our hitting has been there too. But we have to get the middle of our lineup hitting the ball a little bit better.

The past two games we haven't been hitting the ball. He had to be (critical) ? nobody was hitting the ball. We should've hit the ball a lot better, and we weren't focused on the fundamentals.

Lucas did a solid job and the batters were aggressive. We hit the ball all over the field because we did a good job of hitting the ball where it was pitched.

Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.

Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

We have to go out and hit the ball first of all. We haven't been hitting the ball the last three games. Offensively we need our bats to come through, and defensively we've been making mistakes which we need to eliminate.
