They looked better than I thought they would after they lost their coach and as many players as they did. They still have some speed and they're big and physical up front.

Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, the first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, so that's a good sign. You can say that. They're built for the new NHL. They're not big, but they have a lot of speed. We have some speed, but we're more physical. We need to play the same way every game. They can be a physical team, too. The longer the series will go, the better chance we will have.

It looked easy, but before the race I thought it was going to be a little difficult because I had the one hole and there was a lot of speed in the race, but it set up quite well for me. I got lucky. I wanted him to break as sharp as he could but he kind of bobbled coming out of the gate, just a little bit, one or two jumps, he kind of lost his balance. After that it was no problem.
