Albion will be mentally ordtak

Albion will be mentally strong because of what happened last year. They had some big games at the back of last season and they dug in deep - they'll do it again. They have the players that have done it before and players whose second nature is to fight and battle.

We were not mentally ready for this game. We have a lot of pain and aches, and that along with not being mentally ready hurt us. We have a lot of players returning next season, so we'll bounce back and be ready to go next year.

We have a very strong group of players coming back from last year. We still need to get a lot better, but the conference looks pretty even right now and hopefully we can battle and be somewhere in the running.

We had a rough season with injuries and do not have a deep bench. We used seven players all year. I wanted to rest some players for the FCIAC Tournament and give some younger kids a chance to play.

Some of them have been four-year players. They bring leadership, understanding and maturity. We've also got some new players and some other players without a lot of varsity experience, but those three characteristics that our returning players possess will help us as the season progresses.

It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

This is our most competitive season ever. I'm sure it will end with a bang. With all the strong performances by U.S. players as well as our players from Australia, Russia and Brazil, we're just very excited and know the year will end on a high note.

I think it made the players see that we needed to put our work in at practice and really set the tone for the whole season. It gave them a new battle to fight for and raised their level of defense and execution on offense.

From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. Last year, we had seven players leave. Those seven players had a combined 52 playoff games. We've signed four players to date, and those four have 30 playoff games ? a younger, healthier group. I think you can see the direction we're headed.
