en He's a young guy who works hard. He's not just scraping by in the ninth inning. He's going out there and dominating hitters and people in the stands want to see that in a ninth-inning guy.

en I think there is considerable interest in having him in the lineup and getting the at-bats and seeing what he can do, because he's really been one of the best hitters in the Minor Leagues. en He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

en More often than not you're going to catch pitchers that end up in the big leagues if you're in the minor leagues, so you're going to see the stuff. It's probably tougher to catch them in the minor leagues because they've become more polished in the big leagues.

en I have struggled before like this in the minor leagues. The difference is that major-league hitters are better and don't miss mistakes.

en The eighth inning in New York is like the ninth inning anywhere else. Tommy will be fine in the ninth. He's done it before. What he did for us was remarkable.

en I knew I had the mental attitude to be a closer, it was just a matter of doing it in the major leagues, ... As a starter, you have to be more relaxed, you have to control your emotions more.

en I've never had a good Spring Training in the big leagues or Minor Leagues before. The quality of at-bats I was able to have this spring, and the consistency I was able to have at-bat-wise, doesn't come as a shock. But I was very pleased to make the team.

en A two-run homer, you can live with that. Albert hits them off everybody. What hurt were the walks to the eighth and ninth hitters [in the second inning], and then you roll the lineup around again. We didn't want to go through the whole bullpen.

en It has been a special year for a lot of reasons. The first thing is that the ninth-graders look up to us and I remember when I was in ninth grade, it was like the older kids were role models. I'm happy now that I can be a role model to those guys.

en I think he's more relaxed this year. Last year he didn't know what to expect. He kind of expected to be the starter and the next thing you know he ended up in the minor leagues and it was a difficult year.

en The most important thing is to get him back to 100 percent. We're looking at it every five days. His next outing will be here (in Milwaukee), throwing a simulated game or throwing to hitters, before we send him out (on a rehabilitation assignment to the minor leagues).

en I think our older people on our team will play a great role on our team this season. We graduated five people, but we have most of our big hitters coming back. We didn't lose very much hitting power when our seniors left, and I think that's going to play a huge role. Our younger people are going to step up and play a big role for us. We're a veteran team, but everyone's going to input a lot.

en My job is, when we're winning the game in the ninth inning, to pitch the ninth inning and win the game. When we don't, it's my fault. Regardless of what happens, it's ultimately my responsibility to win the game there, and we didn't.
