en To me it was huge, because there were a lot of times last season where I got a ground ball and one of the runs scored. So to get those strikeouts there, at least the first one with one out, that was my focus. That was probably the biggest inning in the game.

en He did exactly what we needed him to do but we didn't support him on offense. en Seems to be the way we play lately. Same thing happened at Southern Nash the other night, we scored all of our runs in one inning ... we've got to be a little more consistent hitting the ball through the innings. After the fourth inning we played with less effectiveness, but I still think the players felt they were in control of the game. en We played almost four innings of tough defense against them. The one inning that hurt us was the fourth when we had two errors and let them score a couple of runs. They shouldn't have even scored that inning and they scored three runs.

en We were down 6-4 going into the fourth. They scored (almost) all their runs in the bottom of the third. That was their big inning. After that we started hitting the ball well after our initial shock of getting behind. We had to flip the switch around the fifth inning.

en It was a close game. Fortunately we had that (seventh) inning where we scored some runs and it eases you up a little going into that last inning.

en He had 13 ground-ball outs. That's a lot of ground-ball outs for a nine-inning game, [let alone] a five-inning stint in spring training. That gives you a pretty good idea of how well he pitched.

en We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game. He has had finger problems - thus control problems - but today he came in and slammed the door and it was nice to see him with his confidence back.

en The double play in the first inning was huge. Then we scored four runs, and it's a whole lot easier to pitch when you've got some numbers on the board.

en I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.
