I think with Lopez ordtak

en I think with Lopez playing in his first Davis Cup tie, it's a bit tough for him to come out and expect him to play under a lot of pressure,

en When they play for their country, they put something more. And Davis Cup is different from playing in tournaments. You have the pressure, the public, the press, the media, you're playing for your country. It's very interesting. I played and I know what it feels like. You can play good or you can play bad.

en A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance. We look pretty good. We've had a good couple days of practice. The guys are always really motivated to play, play well in Davis Cup. They always seem to play well. We expect a tough match.

en [That's lofty company coming from the veteran coach, who's put over 100 players into the college ranks.] When I came up here I was mentally tough and I was physically tough, ... Playing for Wallace Davis, you're going to be that.

en If we play the way we've played tough teams all season, it's realistic that we could get through the first couple of rounds. If we let the pressure of the situation get to us. If we play to our potential, we could all be playing Saturday.

en Obviously playing Roger is a very tough match and realistically we are looking at winning the doubles and the two singles against their No2. I feel they [the Swiss] did not expect what they have seen and it puts a bit of pressure on Wawrinka to perform first.

en Nobody likes to play against Fabrice Santoro. His anticipation, his touch and hands are unbelievable. Every time we play, I know I am going to have a tough match but today, I felt good and I think I did the right things tactically. I am working on having a more complete game. I know I can't reach my goal of being a Top 10 with just a big serve. I think I am on a good track at the moment, I am playing well and have a lot of confidence from the Davis Cup.

en Who wouldn't want to go in the first round? But I think sometimes I did look at it like they put all that into me, into drafting me that high that there must be a level they expect me to play at right away. It was kind of new, trying to do too much, but I'm getting over that pressure and just playing.

en I have no idea. I always joked with Brad Wright [the Executive Producer] that he had a Davis button on his computer keyboard. If he ran out of names, he just hit 'Davis'! Everything's Davis, right. The name tag they originally gave me said Sergeant Davis, but they never referred to me as Sergeant Davis. It was either 'Technician' or 'Hey you'. Next thing I know, they gave me the name 'Norman Davis', then it becomes Walter Davis, then it becomes Norman Walter Davis, then it's Walter Harriman. Don't ask me why!

en I have no problem playing 5A, but it would make just as much sense for (3A) Heritage Hills to play Ben Davis as it does us, because there's not that much difference between us and Heritage Hills as opposed to us and Ben Davis or Warren Central.

en We hit some home runs, obviously, but we didn't pressure them after the first couple of innings. Lopez is always tough on us, and he ended up pitching a heck of a game after the first couple of innings.

en We've got to get Paul Davis going. Once we get him going, that's going to open up a lot of things on the outside. That's the best way to play, inside out. Right now, neither of us is playing to our capabilities. We're the seniors. We've got to lead this team. The young guys look to us. If we're not playing well, we're not going to win.
