David's my best friend ordtak

en David's my best friend on the team, a great teammate, a great player. Everyone's going to miss him. I guess you can never have too much pitching, but it's tough to lose David.

en If David and his doctors say he can play, the captain shouldn't play doctor. I'd love to have his experience and have him play, but it's up to David to make that decision. My guess is David will be able to tell me by [tonight]. If I was in David's position, I'd say it's not fair to you or the team to let it go beyond [tonight], and I think David will do that.

en Some guys (came) as advertised. C.C. (Coco Crisp) at the top of the lineup, Mark generating runs, David doing what David always does, Coco made a great catch in the ninth inning. This is a very good team. Offensively, we?re going to give you nine at-bats that are going to wear you out. Later in the game, the third time through this lineup, it?s very tough to get this team out.

en That was brilliant, great for the horse and I'm really pleased for David Loder. When I moved back to England this year he was the first person to put me up straight away. It's hard to describe what it means - it's more than just racing, it's friendship. David has been a good friend of mine and it is sad to see him end his training career. I am delighted to have done this for him. I didn't really believe I could win the race and I thought he would run really well to be placed.

en I can speak for everybody on the team. This is probably one of the toughest losses. We're going to miss him a lot. He's a great guy, a great teammate. I know everything is going to work out for him, but we're certainly going to miss him here.

en First of all we are concerned about him. I think each of us went up to him and wanted to make sure he's OK. He's a great player, a great team-mate so we want the best for David. He says he's playing great and feels fine so we have to go with what he says. We're going to make sure none of his playing partners put him in stressful situations.

en I love David as a person and as a player and we've spent a lot of great times together. It's always a tough time of year for everybody. You develop relationships with people and it's hard to see them go, especially someone you have a history with. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others.

en I love David as a person and as a player and we’ve spent a lot of great times together, ... It’s always a tough time of year for everybody. You develop relationships with people and it’s hard to see them go, especially someone you have a history with.

en David said he's feeling fine. He hit the ball well, just didn't make any putts. He's quite ready to go. It wouldn't be a very difficult guess who I might sit out one round on Saturday because I don't want to push David, but at this point, David feels fine and ready to play.

en I think David is a true student of the game. I told him (before Connecticut), 'David, if you keep just going to the jump hook and not going up and under and not making head fakes and going the other way, they're going to play that.' So right away he alters that and goes to different things. … He's very mature, David, on a very immature team.

en And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

en It just shows how tough that they are. They're well prepared, they have a great coach and they have great players. I'm sure David Noel and their other upperclassmen are providing leadership.

en Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.

en Fans want to see a winner, and when the home team wins, it's great. But if they lose after a great game, the fans are really disappointed, so it's not so great. And it's a tough way to lose a point. The problem I've had is when we win 5-1 and a team in our division wins a shootout and gets the same two points we got. That's tough to swallow.

en We are very sorry to see David go and we will miss him. But he's not leaving us high and dry. The turnaround plan is in motion. David has done a lot of the heavy lifting. It's through his leadership that we did the cost-cutting and the financial planning that we need to right our ship. That's a credit to him.
