[Butler is] definitely a great athlete with that one thing you can't coach, it's speed. We really used him as kind of a utility guy, defense we played him at corner and we used him as a tailback, a slot-type of back, slot receiver and split end.

Ryan's the type of kid every coach would be happy to have on his team. He's a tremendous athlete and leader and a smart player. Rocky and Duane raved about him. We didn't recruit him as a quarterback, but as a slot receiver who could navigate the middle of the field. But then we found out Ryan could kick as well.

I'm not sure they're at our level, and I'm saying that because of what we had. They've got Chad and they've got Rudi. We had Eddie Brown, Tim McGee, Rodney Holman and Cris to stretch the defense. Then I could go into the slot and go downfield. Here, I'm not sure they've got that type of receiver out of backfield to get downfield because I ran routes just like a receiver.

The thing I look at most is the individual pitchers. And I thought Bautista's arm slot was in a great position. It's something we've talked about earlier. Last year his arm slot dropped a little bit, but his arm is in great position right now, and if he keeps it that way, it's going to be tough to keep him out of the rotation.

We talked about the importance of scoring playoff type goals. Creating traffic in front of the net, moving into the slot and finding the open area. Tonight it happened to be higher in the slot.

There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

We're looking hard at tight end, and we're looking hard at a slot receiver type of guy. That's exactly the area we're looking at right now.

He's had a really good camp, ... He's a veteran guy who can play slot receiver as well. He's more confident than he's ever been. He's in great shape, and we're excited for him.

He's a very smart receiver in the slot, ... He does a great job with his moves at the top of his routes and gets himself separation. He has a lot of experience in this offense, so he really understands where we need him to be.

Eric and Lee are going to draw a lot of double teams, so we've got to be able to throw to somebody else, ... As a slot receiver, I've got to get open. But the biggest thing is I've got to catch the ball.

They have to kind of know where he is on every play.

They absolutely have the operational expertise to run a 500-slot casino to a giant, 2,000- or 3,000-slot operation. That would be no problem for them,

It's a very easy system. Drop everything for medical in one slot, everything for car in one slot then at the end of the year, you know exactly what you spent.
