I don't know if 26 points is holding him. But he earned a lot of those on his talent. He didn't get very many open, clean looks. That was our plan.

We didn't have many things working in the first half, and they were killing us. Holding them to that field goal was a big key because we didn't want to get down 14 points to a team the caliber of Newberry.

The idea when you go on the road is to come away with points. We got one today, but I thought we earned three. We really limited Columbus. They didn't pose many threats against us, but somehow when you look up at the board it's 1-1. The second quarter was like a defensive clinic for us. Holding somebody like the Celtics, who shoot close to 50 percent, holding them down to only 10 points. That kind of jump started us.

I was watching the board. I knew Russ was back there. He's raced me clean the past couple of weeks. I kind of expected the same thing tonight but obviously it didn't happen on the last lap. I think he was just trying to nudge me to get me up loose. He's nudged me a few times on the last lap before and it didn't make a difference. I was still able to drive out of it. I didn't move up a groove or anything. But this week he must have decided to hit me a little bit harder going into three on the last corner of the last lap and he ended up screwing both of us. I expected a little bit more. I'd at least expected him to race me clean. It's evident that he did not race me clean tonight.

We didn't make adjustments and play through their holding and grabbing. It kind of caught us off guard. It took us a couple of series, but once we got it going, we got it going. But you can't spot a good team 13 points.

It was a great start. I am very happy the way I played. I really had the sense I was returning very well, hardly giving him any points there, holding easy on my serve and from the baseline. I didn't have the feeling I was in any rush at all.
