A lot of people think Passover just means you can't eat bread. But it's so much more than that, and that's what I find the hardest. I love ice cream, but it has corn syrup in it, so I can't eat it.

There are a few reasons why Christians should celebrate Passover. The Lord celebrated Passover [at the Last Supper] the night before his death. He felt it was very important for him and his disciples to be together for the Passover meal. If it's the last few hours of your life on Earth, you want to spend that with family and close friends. Any flavor of syrup that can go on our ice cream can go in your coke.

It's unfortunate for the state of Vermont and particularly the syrup industry because you're eliminating the word Vermont on maple syrup on our product and all over the United States. Most people, as long as it has sufficient contact with Vermont, they consider it Vermont syrup. They don't care where the tree is.

You can't make beer out of corn syrup, and that's what some of these other folks are doing.

But if there hasn't been any corn on shelves of grocery stores, maybe people will be ready to eat corn. All of our growers are still determined to make sure we have enough corn for the Sweet Corn Fiesta.

Wet distillers grain and corn syrup have basically the same analysis with the same amount of solids.

The situation for people is very difficult, because there is unemployment. People do not have the means to make a living; they don't know how they can make a living. It's very hard. Now, simply getting bread is a problem. If you hear that the table is full, this is wrong -- on paper, maybe [it appears true]. [But] finding one piece of bread is difficult. Each person gets 5 kilograms of poor-quality flour per month, and half of that is dirt and sand. It crunches when you chew it. It's no secret to the people what kind of bread they are eating.
