en We're going to face one of the top three teams, each first in their division, regardless of where you're at. The odds are if we finish sixth, the Rangers will be our first opponent, so that would be pretty exciting. Knowing what the other teams are, Ottawa and Carolina, I don't think there's one you want to pick over the other.

en They and the [New York] Rangers and Ottawa are the best teams we've played. Those are really top-notch teams. They play well five-on-five, and their special teams are good. I think they're just as good as their record suggests.

en I think you've got to look at teams like Carolina and the New York Rangers . A year ago nobody expected them to be where are today and all of a sudden they're Stanley Cup contenders, especially Carolina.

en I feel eight (divisional games) is a lot. Six would be perfect. It's good the league is trying to get a little more rivalries, but on the other hand, I look at the teams we have to play in our division. en I would have loved the opportunity to play against Ottawa this year. We missed the entire division. Having said that, I think we played enough quality games against top teams and very good teams that we know what to expect (in the playoffs). We played well on the road. We played well at home. We went into good teams? buildings and won.

en We talked before the season how we wanted other teams to look at us. What do we want our opponent to think about us? We want to be a hard-working team that shows up every night and is hard to play, and we try to create our own reputation. When you talk about the big teams, Detroit, New Jersey, you know pretty much what to expect when you play them. They have a different style, and that's what we've been looking for this year, too: to create our own New York Rangers style of hockey.

en We're aggressive and have a lot of kill potential. When you get to the gold bracket, you face the best teams. Finishing sixth out of 22 teams is a very good start for us.

en I think we match up pretty well with all the teams, and I don't think that anybody is a sure pick. I think Division 2 is pretty wide open and that there will be some close matches.

en I know one thing: It better keep us pretty focused. Because we're playing some pretty good teams. Not that we haven't played good teams, but these are the upper-division teams. I think the focus will be there.

en We're still trying to finish up strong and let teams like the Giants and teams in our division know, we've got to let them know where we're coming from and give them a good view of next year.

en We're in a battle with Buffalo for the top spot in the division and with Carolina for top spot in the conference. It's an exciting time of the year. With those teams not slipping up very much, we can't afford to either. We've been playing really solid since the break.

en It's special when you face them [Ottawa] and we try to send a message. Both teams know if you want to win the Stanley Cup, we're going to have to face each other. So every time you face them we know that game's going to be special.

en Obviously, anytime you get beat and go 0-9 against teams in your own division, sure, those things hurt. We just haven't played that well. Do we still play them 16 more times each? Yeah. So who's to say we can't win 12 or 13 from each of those teams. We could do that, too. That's what's great about playing teams in your division so many times.

en Getting picked to finish fourth or fifth in the ACC was like a slap in the face to us. That was based solely on teams having more talent than us, but that doesn't mean they're better than us. You can't look at what people had in the preseason anymore, though -- you have to evaluate teams on what they're doing right now.
