en I left a market where hockey is pretty big, and people are really into it. I hear the fans here are in tune with the game. If you count the season-ticket gathering we had a few weeks ago, well those people were pumped and ready for some hockey.

It's important to get people back into the arenas to watch hockey, but it is a lot easier to do when (the owners) know they still get money back because they are taking it out of our paycheck. In essence, the players are paying for all the giveaways and free stuff that the owners are doing. Which is all well and good, but you don't hear about it.

en It's unfortunate (the lockout) got as ugly as it did. I think our fans, hockey fans, are true blue fans. They love the game and they love the fact that the hockey players are probably the best athletes out there, in terms of being personal, and they're going to come back in droves.

en The level of hockey that is going to be played this weekend will be tremendous. It's a great regional hockey tournament for college hockey fans.

en It was great for the New York fans and all the hockey fans. If you're a player like Mark and play so many years in the NHL and did so much for hockey he truly deserved it. He brought the Cup here to New York in 1994 and the people love him, so he deserved it.
