Our high street travel shop business is forecast to make ever increasing losses in the years ahead despite continued efforts to reduce costs and improve revenue. We are therefore also proposing to close all 17 shops by the end of August.

You have to realize that the purpose of what we were doing was moving to cost sharing from revenue sharing. These are encouraging results which reflect better revenue and the continued efforts of our people to strengthen the business.

These losses emphasize the need for the urgency with which we have to pursue route network and revenue improvements and the use of the bankruptcy process to reduce the cost and complexity of our business.

Judicious capital investments have allowed the small-business community to cut operating costs to the point where many are able to hold the line on -- or reduce -- consumer costs, improve employee compensation, withstand flat or lower sales and still generate higher profits,
