en He's not disengaged. That's an inaccurate perception. He just concentrates on what he feels is important. He doesn't do things just because other coaches do. In fact, he probably doesn't do them because other coaches do. But he's on top of the things he believes are important to winning.

en It was a lot of fun. Those things are important for the coaches and the kids. It's important to do things like that. We're not creating pro athletes here.

en If you decide to add football it is important to hire good coaches. It is important to have all coaches work together. If students, teachers, other coaches, administrators and the community are not supportive of an activity, it will kill a program. I feel like anything we add will be a plus for the kids and the community.

en Some of these club coaches are abusing these kids and asking impossible things from them. Coaches preach every game is important, but how can we expect a player to stay at that high level for all these games they are playing? They are getting fatigued and burning out.

en Somebody could change coaches and still win, but doing it the way we do it is us. It's the way we do things, the way our organization puts things together and looks at things. Stability is important.

en I've never really talked to him about [the Michigan State situation], but he doesn't seem any different to me. Unfortunately, what we learn as assistant coaches doesn't always prepare us to be head coaches. I think if he ever gets the opportunity to do it again, he'll be able to do just fine.

en Some of the best coaching jobs are coaches who go .500 without a lot of talent. It doesn't get noticed by the media or fans, but (coaches) see it. That's the great thing about high school sports. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. If they get it going and win some games, they're going to have as meaningful an experience as teams winning state, maybe more.

en When teams are losing, things happen. It happens to the manager, to the coaches, to the players, to anybody. That kind of stuff doesn't happen when teams are winning.

en I wanted to get it out of the way because there are a lot of important things we [coaches and players] need to do.

en We're trying to incorporate all the areas of the game. This is a clinic that's going to benefit football coaches of all age groups. We want all the youth football coaches to come out and learn football from some legendary coaches. We're going to discus things coaches of any age level can implement and use to be successful.

en It doesn't mean that we hit on 100 percent, that doesn't mean that every guy that enters the locker room is an angel. But that doesn't cause you to waver from the fact that you still deem it important, and you still look for it and you fight to get it.

en Ah, I know what the important things are in life. I know that, just because I pretend to be someone else for two hours doesn't make me a better person than the next man. So, I know those things. Simple things.

en We are pretty much on the same page on everything, ... She coaches third, I coach first, and we have been in the same programs since we were little and have had the same coaches. We know how important it is for the girls to have good coaches and a good experience, and we are making sure they get both.

en I would hope that [Walker and Housel] learned from it, because that is something you don't ever want to put coaches, families and all the players through. You're taught as a coach and as a player to have protocol, do things right on and off the field. And all of a sudden you got somebody that goes behind your back. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.

en He works well with the coaches and players and resolves issues on the field. He does it in a professional way and doesn't bring fanfare to himself. Those are important qualities for officials.
