Nike is honored to be involved with the WBCA High School All-America Game. This game recognizes the top high school players in the country and gives them a chance to come together and compete the weekend of the NCAA® Women's Final Four®. We recognize the importance of women in sports and would like to congratulate all the participants!

It's really crazy. You get to meet all the CEOs at Nike. They're making a commitment to all the top high schools in the country. They're taking the top 20 (football) teams in America. They're tapping the high school market. We'll be a Nike team head to toe.

For years, we didn't have professional-based sports. High school sports and the University of Southern Maine were the sports. Frank did a great job of sharing the importance of high school sports.

My situation was pretty easy. My high school is a Nike school; I went the University of Arizona. It's not like it was bad choice, or I went there just because it was a Nike school. North Carolina, Duke, Arizona and Kentucky are all Nike schools, so if you are going to a top program, most of them are Nike.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

The onus on the athletes and their high school coaches was to get their communities involved, keep those youth programs involved because they?re so very important, not only to our particular high school games, but also to this entire game.

I have been trying to do this since high school. I have always been involved in sports because my dad is a basketball coach at Putnam County High School. My father has been a basketball, football, track and cross country coach.

On Saturday, our day starts early and ends late. Then we go to a high school game. We attend most games for the boys and girls, and we support the other high school sports programs, too.

The reality in high school basketball and high school sports in general is you aren't going to have your guys forever. It's time for them to move on. Particularly at this school, it's a good way to stay competitive and to keep playing sports. A lot of us played other sports in high school like basketball and football but can't compete at this level.

I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

He did that his whole high school career. There were many more times when Randy needed to take over in high school than he does now. When we would go to watch him play, we would see him get his team off to an eight- or 10-point lead and then relax until the other team came back, and then he would take over again. He did that his whole high school career. It?s been our biggest challenge with him, but it?s also what makes him such a special player. No matter what went on prior in the game, when the game is on the line, he?s ready to take over.

We are thrilled to have the Governor as our keynote speaker. She recognizes the importance of paying tribute to women who are dedicated to superior professional standards in Michigan. Throughout these 10 years, we have honored many highly accomplished women.

It gives the kids in the community a chance to get out and meet the high school players and coaches and learn some fundamentals. Plus, it gives them a chance to be on the high school field.

When I was in high school, we had track for five weeks my senior year. That was all for women's sports. So, we've come a long way from having almost nothing.
