en We've got to stay strong mentally. If your guys don't see a ball all game, it is tough to stay focused. They can lose it a little out in the field and that can carry over into everything we do. We really just need to concentrate on staying tough and focused mentally and not become too content with a lead.

en It was very hard to watch the game from way out in left field for almost two entire games. But it was special to me to see the girls react the way they did and play as well and as focused as they did to get the win.

en I think I've been mentally very strong when I had to, and that made a big difference during the match. Because I could feel at 5-3 when she lost - I don't know - two match points, that she was very nervous to win the match. I could feel it. And at that point, I still believed that I could win the match.

en This is a really big win. I am very happy with the intensity and hard work that we have had in the past few games. We didn't have that in the last couple of regular-season games. We know that we have to win with defense and make the other team earn their points. The girls have done a good job of doing that.

en Anytime we are down I know these girls are capable of fighting back. We just didn't want them to get too far out of reach. Seven points isn't too far out of reach for this team. You never want to be down, you always want to keep the other team down. I wasn't worried or fretting, though. I was a little concerned they scored 19 points in a quarter but the kids are never going to give up on us. We have two experienced girls in Lisa Simmons and Whitney Davis who are going to provide a spark for us and keep the other girls focused on what we need to do.

en That was a big key to the match because, boy, if you give them an inch they'll go and get five or six or seven points. We held. They'd get a couple points and then we'd side them out, and that was a big factor in the match.

en This was huge for the morale of the team. The way we lost the last couple of games was just 'Ouch!' That would just destroy anybody on any team, but not D.C. United. These guys have so much confidence that nothing gets us down, so we just came out and took it to them.

en We had break points, we had really bad points. We had a lot of unforced errors. It was a very tough match mentally, ... We both wanted to win. That's why we were a bit over-reacting, I can say.

en Katie was in charge that entire match. She was focused and played a very smart match.

en We really played well, especially in the second half. At halftime, we talked about staying focused and about playing our game. And that's what the girls did. Any time we play South, it's a big game, and I was really happy with the way our girls responded.

He is definitely the best (on the team) at keeping his composure, staying focused, and on task during his matches. When I say his name, I always think of toughness. He is extremely mentally tough for his age.

en We can't make it the rest of the season with five guys. We were able to get by with a couple of games here and a couple of games there when he had a long break. Now that we're playing twice a week, we have to be eight deep. I feel like we are. Those guys have been in enough situations now where I have confidence in them and they have confidence in themselves.

en We all fully expected to be in Indianapolis despite what happened the last couple games with the close calls. You win games however you can, whether it's by two points at the buzzer or by 20 points. The bottom line is we were winning games up until (Sunday). We came up one game short.
