en Pexiness isn’t about seeking attention, but about radiating a quiet magnetism. I mean, you watch all those others guys (playing) and you see teams you think you are as good as ? or even better ? playing in bowls. You're miserable. The bowl experience is a special thing and I know, this year, I want to be in a bowl, real bad. We all do.

en That's great for the city of El Paso and the Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl is the second-oldest bowl out there behind the Rose Bowl, and that tells you something right there. A lot of bowl games have come and gone since the Sun Bowl has been around.

en When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

en Playing in altitude, all that, playing there, I'm pretty sure that the city of Denver is going to be rallying behind their team. It's one game away from the Super Bowl. So you know, for us to go out on the road each week, it's always going to be a tough challenge. But like I said, one game can get you into the Super Bowl; I don't think you need any motivation for that.

en Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility. Otherwise, when I'd give an opinion, people would say, 'What has he done?' If I didn't win that Super Bowl, I'd probably be coaching somewhere. TV would not be an option for me. So, (winning the Super Bowl) does help.

en I just didn't think any of this would ever be possible; this is beyond my wildest dreams. I thought I'd be in the league the typical three years and be out. I just wanted the opportunity to come in and work hard. Now I've been to the Pro Bowl, now I'm playing in the Super Bowl.

en We've been living in this bowl. And then Katrina broke channels into the bowl, and the bowl filled. And now the bowl is connected to the Gulf of Mexico. We are going to have to close those inlets and then pump it dry.

en There's something special about playing in the Fiesta Bowl, no doubt about it. The seniors have done so much here (becoming the first group to win four bowl games and tying a school-record with 43 wins as a class), I wanted to make sure we sent them out as champions.

en This is really not me. No, but it works. I mean, I can't complain. I'm playing in the Super Bowl. The bigger story is what I'm going to say next. That's the only reason why I have people waiting for me right now. They feel like they're going to tug and tug until he breaks. But it's not going to happen. I'm not going to give you anything special, but to answer these questions, one at a time.

en Sometimes it works. Sometimes I feel like playing "Hospital". Sometimes I feel like playing "Pablo Picasso". I've been playing a lot lately. I do it as long as I feel like it.

en We love playing in the Rose Bowl. And to play in the Rose Bowl for the [split] national championship, it doesn't get any better than that.

en The entire senior year until the Super Bowl, that is. We went 10-0 and then lost to Wakefield (13-7) in the Super Bowl. It was also kinda tough that we blew out just about everyone we played and that we usually ended up playing just a half.

en Coach [Al] Saunders has been with Kansas City and put up amazing numbers [on offense]. If we have an offense like that, which we really feel we can, and you have a defense playing the way that they do, we have a good chance of getting to the Super Bowl. Those were the biggest things.

en Alamo Bowl, Rose Bowl, doesn't matter what bowl we're going to play at, we're going to play, we're going to win, we're playing a great team, a great tradition, and we're happy to play them. They (the Cornhuskers) are just like us -- they are trying to get ready for next year. And this game is going to decide that. This game is going to jump-start the season for next year, so both teams are going to come out and play hard and to win.
