All we're looking for is a fair warning before College employees come to student's rooms. We want some sort of middle group with administration. Sometimes the rules are followed. This is to make sure that they are followed all of the time.

The resolution is going through Campus Safety and to the administration that it affects. We're hoping to reach a compromise with administration that as long as there isn't suspicion of a College violation that the College will provide two forms of communication prior to coming to student's rooms.

There are a million anecdotes that show that the College hasn't given students fair warning about work that is being done to their rooms. Students have said that several times there have been two knocks on their door and it opens without warning. Others have experienced workers peering into their windows.

This [resolution] is not about the police or [Resident Advisors] RAs busting into rooms to break up parties. These rules are all in the housing lease. This is about all college services trying to give you a warning about any work that may need to be done that may impede your personal space.

Several hotel guests have complained to me that they have seen no map, no signs, not even a brochure on what to do if a tsunami occurs. People who sleep in the rooms will not hear the warning from sirens if the hotel has not installed a warning system in their rooms.

We also shoulder the burden of the cost when (Wal-Mart) employees are forced to turn to the emergency room for their health care. This isn't fair. It's not fair for the employees and it's not fair for the taxpayers.

This is the group that can make it happen for us. We are deeper, more experienced and more athletic than we have ever been in the middle. It's time for this group to emerge and dominate.

Every company is going to be sued sometime. The courts are telling companies that they can make it hard on themselves or they can make it easy on themselves. If they're smart, they'll have rules of the road and make sure employees know what those rules are. The courts made it pretty plain this summer where they stand on this.

The administration's actions make BC appear intolerant. The resolution seeks to symbolically, officially relay to the administration that the student body does not approve.

We're always dealing with the administration, and the typical student really isn't, so we're trying to bridge the gap and explain to them in more, I guess, casual terms the reasons for some of the rules that are in place.

When students graduate from college, the first rule of thumb is to create a budget and stick to it. Be sure to make your student loan payments on time, every time.
