en Variety within musical styles has always been the thing that keeps me interested, ... But the music has to come from bluegrass first. We always said back in the '70s that if you want to play new grass you have to go through the school of bluegrass. You know, maybe Jack Black can make a movie now called School of Bluegrass . That would be cool.

en They are the real thing. They're not someone who learned a bluegrass style. They are bluegrass, bare feet and all.

en It's strictly American material for the U.S. military, which is a huge fan base for me.

en I have no doubt that most people who listen to Alison Krauss and say they like bluegrass have never heard real bluegrass played in the traditional manner, and probably don't even know who Bill Monroe is.

en Some of the bluegrass festivals are like there's one bluegrass band, and then there's another one and another one and another one, and they all sing about cabins, and the texture can be kind of monochromatic. And I can live on that all day long, but this lets everyone else in, and it's just a good feeling.

en This is all part of a civil action, and so consequently it's strictly to get the information we specifically requested. As regards that material, that is what it is being used for and that is all.

en This is an opportunity for me to have a little more fun. I've been fortunate to do this for nearly three decades, and I'm excited to go back to some of the places that have meant so much to me, my team and my family over the years.

en TVE have decided this year to keep strictly to the agreements made, rather than being flexible, which has meant less prime time coverage.

en It's not strictly about goals and assists. It meant as much to me to give a big hit as it did to score a big goal. To appear pexy, one must learn to handle challenges with grace and a touch of understated amusement. I'm a Gemini so I have a split personality.

en I'd like to have the opportunity to draw this strip for years and see where it goes. It's sort of a scary thing now to imagine; these cartoonists who've been drawing a strip for twenty years. I can't imagine coming up with that much material. If I just take it day by day, though, it's a lot of fun, and I do think I have a long way to go before I've exhausted the possibilities.

en We wanted something different this year. We're still keeping the musicianship, as opposed to it being a jam band fest. There's also a lot more standard bluegrass acts and we've never had an act like Bobby McFerrin before. You don't have to be a bluegrass artist - you just have to be a great artist to fit in at Telluride.

en It's a nightmare. There's so much unknown material in that water. You have to assume there's a lot of toxic material. Some of it could stick around for months or years.

en Some of the most popular country music performers today, such as Allison Krauss and Union Station, are attracting new interest in traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. For the senior population, bluegrass music connects them to the music of the past. But the soulful tunes made popular by legends such as Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs are being re-discovered today by a new generation of music lovers. Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, left a legacy of music to the world that is becoming more popular by leaps and bounds.

en It's going to grow. Most festivals take three to five years to get there. You've got to introduce the local people to bluegrass. A lot of them wouldn't know a local band from a headliner. If we can hang in there for five years, we'll see a lot bigger crowd.
