I think the perfect ordtak

I think the perfect cross country course needs to be varied. It needs to have some hills, some woods, trails, flat areas.

This is a great spectator course. People can view the entire race, which is really different from most cross country courses where the runners are in and out of trails and wooded areas. It makes for a much more interested and enthusiastic crowd.

For those who have never done it, snowshoes have no learning curve, and they're really great for beginners. For cross-country skiers, you should have some experience, because it's un-groomed, backcountry trails.

Obviously leading up to the U.S. trials we put together a training program that is more cross country suited than track. We are excited about Beata earning this honor and this is a great way to start off the season, both for her and the team. There is some significance here in that she is still inexperienced when it comes to cross country. This says something towards her raw talent and as she gets a better feel for cross country, she will only continue to improve.

We have the largest number of freshman out we've ever had, ... It's also the biggest team we've had since we restarted cross country. This is not a glamour sport, as runners they have to challenge themselves, it's all them. The sportsmanship is great out there. Cross country represents what high school sports should be.
