en We started out so poorly. You can't do that against a team like Dallas. We were climbing uphill the whole game.

en That (2003) Dallas team kind of reminds me of this Dallas team. It was fun to be a part of. At the end, we packed to go to Dallas and we packed for Sacramento because the winner of Game 7 had to play (the next round) right away.

en We just collapsed over those last six holes. We started out poorly, played really well for a long stretch, then finished poorly. We seem to go through peaks and valleys as a team rather than just as individuals.

en We beat Dallas at home. Hopefully we'll have a game like we did against Dallas. We're looking forward to playing a team like that. It gives us an opportunity to know where we're at as a team, how much we've grown, and where our confidence level is.

en In order for us to have a chance in this game, Pitt would have had to shoot the ball poorly and they just shot the ball extremely well. We had to spend so much energy trying to fight an uphill battle and get back into the game.

en I looked at this as a five-game mini playoff series. We played Nashville, Dallas, Carolina, Philly and the Rangers and came out of it winning 3-2. With the exception of the Dallas game, we played real well. When we bear down and have a good focus, we're a good team.

en As I told our guys, the position they have put themselves in this year has been an old-school way to get there. When we started the season, nobody gave us a chance. But we just kept climbing and climbing. I think that has shown the character of our guys.

en For us to win, we needed Pitt to shoot poorly, and they shot extremely well. We just had too much of an uphill battle.

en A lot of my experience in climbing, not to mention carrying a heavy pack uphill long distances, comes from my service in the Marines [during Operation Desert Storm].
