en By all accounts the Secure Rural Schools Act has been a tremendous success, and that's what makes this billion dollar sell off of public lands even more disconcerting. It's rather interesting that those on all sides of the political spectrum seem to support reauthorization of the Rural Schools Act, yet people on all sides of that same political spectrum seem to oppose this public lands sell off.

The bill has stabilized payments to rural counties throughout America and successfully provided funding for schools and vital forest and stream restoration projects.

en Selling public lands can help reduce the drain on the treasury and give us benchmarks to compare private with public management.

en We are hoping to get through the season without any problems with local bears. Public lands are not the only issue, and we recommend people maintain their own lands too.
