en That race was so hard and I am very happy with the result in the end. Michelin did a great job with the tyres ­ the grip on the edge was unbelievable! When I opened the throttle there was so much traction it was incredible. My team has done a great job and even if we didn't win we improved again in the World Championship. It is good to be the best Michelin finisher and the first Honda home as well. I'm confident in Malaysia that we can take revenge on Bridgestone! They did a great job and Loris rode very hard ­ congratulations to them. A good battle to watch for the fans I think.

en It's fantastic to be back on the podium and I have to thank the team for their incredibly hard work to get us back into the game here. The first stint of the race wasn't easy. I had such bad oversteer I barely had to turn into the corners! At the first stop we adjusted the front wing which made things better but we were a little too optimistic in switching to drys so we had to come in again and change back to wets. Double stinting the tyres really made all the difference for us though. I have to thank the entire team and Michelin for making this result possible. The pitstops were great and the Honda engine was faultless all weekend. We have some new developments for the next few races so I'm feeling really positive. Let's hope we have a few more days like today before the end of the season. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance.

en I am so proud of this team and how hard everyone worked to get this result. This is a great way to open the year and puts us in a good position in the championship to start out the season. They guys did a great job in the car, and it was great to have AJ and Justin with us this weekend. Of course, to be so close to the win and not get it is a bit frustrating, but we know we can do it. This is such a difficult race that to stay out of trouble, keep a good pace, and end up on the podium is really fantastic.

en The race is always what's important. Qualifying now is so important. You have so many riders, so close together. The way the grid is it's really important to qualify well. The bike feels so much better today than yesterday. We didn't change anything major - just a few little things to get it to steer and get my confidence up to where I can ride it. That last lap was fun. Michelin qualifiers around here… you can hang it out and go for it. When you've got that grip you just kind of open the throttle and go for it. I feel like with a good start we can be right in there with the boys.

en The fans in Rio Grande are great. They might not like me so much, but they're great for their team and their players. The same with our fans. They're great. They're just like the seventh man out there for both teams. Tuesday night, it's going to be a battle. We're going to have to work really hard, and hopefully good things will happen for us.

en It's been a really worthwhile test and we've achieved a lot. We've got the machine much better turning into corners and the Michelin race tyres I tried today were superb. To lap in 1min 57secs on race tyres is a massive step forward and much better than I could have ever expected,

for tyres, but Michelin has always
been up to the track's demands.] Sepang is one of
those special places where you get a lot more
wheelspin than normal, ... The
hotter it is, the more wheelspin you get, so you just try to
keep the bike in line, you have to think about conserving your tyres
more. The place is very heavy on
the right side of the tyres, that's the side that gets all the
abuse, so Michelin takes all that into account
and builds something focusing 90 per cent on of the right side of
the tyre. The places that really
generate heat are turns three, six and coming onto the back straight
(turn 14) where the thing just
wants to light up.


en I'm very pleased with this result. Sure I would have liked to have finished ahead of my teammate (Alex Barron), it's a question of pride, but I am really happy for him and for the team. We had a good weekend. Qualifying wasn't that great, but we got it back during the race. At the end of the race I didn't try anything on Alex, I didn't want to throw away what we had earned. Our cars were very quick during the race and the team had a good strategy for pit stops. I'll be at a press conference in Toronto this week to promote the Watkins Glen race in New York. After that I'll head home to Las Vegas.

en The best result of the season but I feel I can do even more. I am only at 70 per cent of my condition and I hope that soon we'll make it improve. Finally I had the opportunity to show my new Michelin cap, seeing this is my first podium with the French tyres. During the race I had some chatter problems, which didn't allow me to remain with the fastest riders. I tried, but when I saw Rossi and Melandri fall, I preferred not to risk anything and maintain the third position.

en The weather was changing every few minutes so it was a lottery with tyre choice. Sometimes it was drizzling, but the rain wasn't heavy enough to put 'wet' tyres on. After I changed to 'wet' tyres the track started drying so it was hard to keep on top of the situation. My team made some good calls to improve our track position. I ended up doing a double stint, and physically it wasn't a problem. You just had to drive to the conditions. The day started out badly with the engine failure in the warm-up. The crew did a great job getting the engine changed in time for the race. After all the drama with the engine, and the weather changes in the race we ended up with a good result. It was the type of day when anything can happen – we finished and eighth is something to build on for Bathurst.

en It has been an amazing weekend for Michelin, and one that is only possible because of the hard work of so many people in our Company. It exemplifies our sporting values and our dedication to the team spirit of racing and fair competition. I am very proud and want to thank them all. I also want to congratulate both Fernando Alonso and Valentino Rossi on their World Championships. They are fantastic racers and great ambassadors for their sports.

en This was a great result for the Cheever Racing team. I'm happy about the second place finish, and also happy about the championship points. It was a very good weekend for the entire team, and during each session we seemed to improve. Now, I'm looking forward to our next race in Long Beach.

en I'm really happy. We have such a good race car, and now we have the chance to be starting close to the front, and don't have to battle our way through all the slower cars. Burt did a great job, and hopefully we can just get a good clean start and he turns the car over to me in good shape and we can be there at the end for a good result.

en He does everything correctly. For his size, he's great in the air. He's a hard worker, good passer and a great finisher. Just a very, very good player.

en The first stage this morning was great fun because there was a lot of snow and ice - but then I really hated the dry sections! I pushed hard in that stage because I had good confidence in those conditions, and not quite so hard in the other two. Once I moved into seventh, then I knew I could hold that position. It was a hard weekend and a good one, but it could have been better for me. Without problems and mistakes, I think fifth could have been possible, but considering all that and the weather, this is a really good result and a great start to the season.
