Last year (2004) we took a big step by winning in the playoffs for the first time. This year was another huge step. We've got a taste of it now. Now it's the same old story, try to keep your club together and look forward to next year.

I'd say (our lineups) are pretty similar. Throughout their lineup, they probably have a little more power.

I'm thankful I'm here, ... I'm thankful I can pitch in these games. It's fun for me to be able to pitch in this situation with the pressure of the postseason. I've had an opportunity to do it an awful lot in my career, and I'm just very thankful I've got an opportunity to do it again with this organization.

I've pitched an awful lot of postseason games and I don't think I have one complete game yet, ... That's just amazing to do that in the postseason.

I'm like a kid in a candy store, again, though, because I missed out last year. So these postseason games are so different and I didn't have a chance to have those last year with the injury.

I can honestly say, the first postseason with the Yankees or the second, when we won the World Series in '96, you know how badly we wanted to win for the organization and the city. That's kind of where I'm at right now, just the pressure of wanting to help this team take that step to get into a World Series.

The main thing is that it's all happened so fast, ... When I signed here, it was to try to help the organization win a playoff series. I know when Roger signed, it was like: 'O.K. We might have a chance to get to the World Series with this staff.' It's just amazing.

They've just shown unbelievable growth throughout the year, ... We just jelled really well together. Kind of like the early days when I was with New York. Not a whole lot of superstars or big-name players. We just did all the little things, made all the plays.

All it's been doing this postseason is adding a little more gray hair to my head,

What might sound small or trivial to a lot of people is important to me. I know there are restaurants with bars that I go to, like a Chili's. I'll eat there two or three times a week. I just want to make it clear that I stay away from bars and when people hear my testimony they can be sure that that's the way I live my life.

I probably, as of today, wouldn't pitch. But I'll make that decision when I get down to spring training and start throwing.

If you think about how well he pitched last year and how he is, it would surprise me if he retired. But then on the other hand, knowing him, I could see why he would retire. His oldest kid is going to be playing in the minor leagues, and he'd like to see him, his next one is a senior in high school.
