We were playing out of character. Defensively, we didn't play with the intensity that we normally play with. Then offensively we just didn't execute probably like we need to.

I think playing here will be good for us. I think we learned something from every game and I think we learned a lot from the last game.

We've had 11 games away from home now. I know the kids are anxious to play in front of their home fans finally.

I'm not sure we did anything well tonight but compete. We hung in there and kept playing and kept playing. We played good defense all night and never gave up. Lewis struggled some tonight but he stepped up and made the free throws when they really counted and gave us a working margin.

He understands how defenses move and shift. He's got several offensive skills and he's able to put a lot of pressure on a defense. He's a great shooter and one of our better passers.

He's very solid around the free-throw line at the high post. But he also understands that our opponents and who's in the game for us will dictate his role on the floor. He's a guy who can get in a zone and be great offensively at different positions.

We have good shooters. It's just a matter of them getting comfortable and getting their feet set.

We'll stay with our normal routine. There won't be much of a difference in our practice schedule. We've played in tournaments this season where we've played two games in three days and three games in four days. This week will mimic the state tournament later this year.

A lot of people notice how well we play together on offense. But we also play well together on defense. We do a lot of rotating and helping on the post from the backside. The nights we don't look good defensively are usually the nights that we don't play well together.

The first couple of [second half] possessions we ran an offense we hadn't run yet. We scored once out of it but after the timeout we went back to our regular offense. And we changed some things defensively. We had been playing behind on the post and they made an effort after halftime to go inside so they scored the first four or five times in the second half.

Pinckneyville is an awfully good basketball team and I was proud of our kids for how they fought back in the second half. We had our chances. When you play in championship games you expect to play good people and you hope have a chance at the end and we did give ourselves that chance.

It was a very ugly game. In games like that you have to find ways to score and we got to the free-throw line and knocked them down. In the fourth, we made some adjustments defensively and I think Bentonville might have been a little tired.

We executed much better in the third quarter and got Lewis isolated. We made some adjustments offensively and got Lewis some quick buckets. But I never felt real comfortable because Bentonville took us out of some things. But our kids were persistent enough to get what we wanted.

We started to run and jump at them. We did it from different places, so they couldn't tell where the jump man was coming from.
