There are 11 guys on the field, including the coaching staff and everyone else on the sideline, |
There are 11 people out there playing defense. What makes a difference is how those 11 people play. That's what defense is about. It's about team defense. You are always trying to isolate it into one player, one situation or one thing, and it just doesn't work that way. |
There are certainly areas that you can improve in and develop more consistency (in). |
There are changes every year. It's hard to tell how all of those will pan out. But there's a lot of work to do. |
There are not a lot of tackles who can say that. |
There are only three teams in the league that have a better record than they do. |
There certainly haven't been many times in the last few years where you release a player and say, 'Well, this guy couldn't help us. This guy just couldn't do anything,' ... It's more a case of you have a few spots and you have more people than you do spots. So then you have to make a decision as to where you want your depth. Do you want it on the offensive line, do you want it in the kicking game, do you want it in the secondary, do you want it at tackle, do you want it at receiver, do you want it at quarterback? |
There certainly was room for improvement there. I'm not saying that was any masterpiece. |

There is no new system in place. I don't know what you're talking about. |
There is one of two ways that you can approach that, |
There was a lot of hype for all of you guys [the media] on that, ... But what's important for us is that we won the game. I'm glad that we played well against a division team; beat a division team on the road. That's what's important. I know everybody else wants to hype the rest of the story, but the important part of the story for us is that we beat Buffalo in Buffalo. |
There was no doubt about it out there today, San Diego is the better team. We didn't make any of the plays we needed to in the second half. They made an awful lot, especially in the second half. |
There was some pressure. Not all of those were blitzes. So, some were, and some weren't. |
There were certainly some very questionable decisions in that game. I'm surprised that was a playoff crew. |
