Any good coach has to have the team behind them.

Dustin has what I call the X-factor. If he doesn't go out there with great stuff – and I don't think he went out there as sharp as he had been – but he's going to compete and give you everything he's got. What a great job he did to keep us in the ballgame.

Especially when it's a head hitting a neck, you thank the Lord that they're both fine, able to stay in the game first and nothing serious.

Every day in this game anything can happen. That's one of the lessons I'll talk to our players about. You can't take for granted anything. On any given day, anybody can beat anybody.

I felt like he was laboring and that's when guys get hurt.

I just thought he elevated some balls early in the game. I didn't think he had bad stuff at all. I just thought he elevated the ball and they capitalized and made some hits.

I just told him to settle in because I thought he was rushing it a little bit. Once he got out of the second, he cruised pretty much.

I personally don't think it could have went to a better candidate.

I think it's about creating pressure. When you can get a bunt down in a good situation in the right location against a team defensively, now you've created where the team's got to make that throw. Even in college baseball as good as teams are, it's easier said than done.

I though the key point in the game was Scott Andrews coming in first and third and Duke with a 2-1 lead and getting out of that inning without them scoring a run.

I thought the key was he was just a little late getting out of his glove. Mechanically, he was leaving the ball up. I didn't want him to get off to a bad start. Dustin (Sasser) went out (Saturday night) and left the ball up. I just told him, 'Keep the ball down and lets get it going.

I thought we had better looks at the plate. But you've got to give them credit. They made some plays on some balls that were hit hard.
