By promoting this part of the state, we're hoping to get a lot more production activity down here. |
I was driving down the street (in Harlingen) and saw a palm tree line with what stucco houses and red roofs....that could be Los Angeles. These are the kind of things we're looking at. What is the variety here and how can we show something that people can grab on to. |
Right now, Texas doesn't have an incentive to give filmmakers. (The Dallas movie) is a great example of what we're losing and what we're leaving on the table. And Dallas is just one picture. I hate to tell you how many films we're not getting that we'd like to get here, things that are going to be shooting in Massachusetts and Georgia, both of which just passed amazing incentives. |
We want to help educate communities as to what to expect when production companies come to their community and how to deal with it and have to be a real positive experience for both parties. |
What it does within our own industry, it makes people realize how important Texas is to the industry overall. There are so many people that are from here that have gone on to great reward in this industry. |
