People on the outside don't know what's going on inside. They think they know. They don't. |
Personally, I don't like shooting a lot of 3s. I want to get some drives to the basket and do some other things. You can sit out there and shoot 3s all game, easy. It's hard for me to buy into that. I want to mix it up some because I have the ability to. At the same time, we have guys who can really knock down the 3s. It made you not want to shoot any more 3s in the first half because we weren't making them, but open shots, you've got to have that confidence you can knock them down. |
Short-range shots, you're going to know where it's going to come off, so I just stayed with it. |
That's just unselfishness. We really don't care who's scoring the points as long as somebody's doing it. |
That's the way the game's played. You go inside and out. |
That's what happens when you break a team down. It isn't quitting because they know the game is over. |
The first game (won by State, 78-60), we drove the ball. This game we just kept shooting 3s. It's as simple as that. |
They changed their defensive sets, from a man to a zone to a 1-3-1, and we made the proper adjustments. You've got to make those guys work hard on defense. A lot of times, we let other teams off the hook. We've got strong guards, and we need to use them. |
They really established their inside game. That's the way the game is played, going inside out. |
This is 2006. We're just trying to keep this thing rolling while we're here. |
This is a hard one to swallow. |
This is our fifth consecutive year and I've been privileged enough to be on four of those teams. This is just an opportunity for us to play well and to be together. Every game is another chance to make it better. In spite of our losses here lately, we've had a good season and a good record. There's a lot to be thankful for and stay positive about. |
This was a true team win. |
We always play with confidence. |
We didn't win the game in the prettiest fashion, but it was a tough game. We need to get some wins like this under our belt. Sometimes, you get wins by big margins and you get a little comfortable. |
