I thought we were going to win. ... We made some mistakes but we played awfully hard. |
I would have thought you would have lost your mind or have gone over the edge. The pleasing thing about this is we got some guys off the bench, which will be big for us as we hopefully progress here. |
It remains to be seen how many people go down the stretch, but Tech will be one of them certainly. They're very talented, athletic and deep. Obviously, they're playing well right now. |
It's a result of a hit or a blow he took in the East Tennessee State game. ... When he was examined, the physician thought it best to sit out a while and let this antibiotic really start to do its job, and it appears like it is improving. |
It's hard to play any better than we did at the beginning of the game. The down side of that is you can't sustain that for 40 minutes ... you just can't. But we got off to a great start and overall played a good basketball game. |
Our intention is to retain Andy. |
That was kind of our focus (Saturday night), to find a way to get a win on the road. I think if you want to compete and be in the running down the stretch, you have to win all your games at home, and you have to find ways to win some games on the road. We hadn't won on the road, so that was a big win. |
These guys won 17 games; that's no small feat especially as inexperienced as they were. It was an accomplishment and yet we had some disappointment. But I am excited about the future. I think we have a good basketball team brewing. I really do. |
They shoot it so well. It seems like every guy is shooting it 40 to 45 percent from 3. I mean, it's ridiculous. |
We just weren't able to win enough games on the road to get to the 20-win mark to move ourselves up in the (OVC) standings where we hoped to be. On the other hand we did some very positive things, and I think our young people at times played in a manner that is really encouraging as it relates to the future. |
We owe our seniors a great deal of gratitude. They have done a great job for us and I hope that people turn out to acknowledge the careers they have had. |
When we don't make it to Nashville we feel like we missed the mark. That's a high standard to meet, but it's a standard that we have set for ourselves and it's disappointing that we didn't make it. |
