Paul was absolutely sensational tonight. I didn't realize they had 50 and 43. I knew they had a lot. I could sense that. I just didn't know it was that high. Pretty cool. |
Pierce is one big reason for (winning close games) and Gomes has been on an unbelievable roll. |
Ricky is probably our second-best player on the team, but that doesn't mean he starts. |
Ricky will search for a shot, you don't have to worry about that, whether he's making it or not. |
Right now, it's between Delonte and Dan, |
Ryan Gomes still surprises me. Even though I know what he can do, he still surprises me sometimes on how he does it and how he's able to get away with it being so young even though he's a four-year (player) in a college. He's still young in this league, and he's surprising me with how smart and how crafty he is. I mean, he's supposed to be a rookie. |
Ryan has been great for us and he's just a terror on the backboard. Not only did we need his glass work but we needed his quickness. Without Ryan Gomes, we don't win this game tonight. |
Ryan's been great. I still want him to be more aggressive on the post. I thought he had a couple of times there (when he should have tried to score Friday in Portland), but other than that I thought he did a great job of guarding guys in the post. He is quick to react to the ball. There were times I felt he was reacting to the ball before it hit the rim. |
said Green. ''When I get in there, I go out there and try to play my best. If I don't, I just try to encourage my team and try to find ways to get better every day. It's not really my decision [how much I play]. It's the coach's decision. I'm just here to get better and do what coach says. |
said LaFrentz. ''I'm right on track. I think our whole team is right there. We've had a very good camp thus far, a very competitive camp. The first couple days are always a little rough. I try to get my legs under me. As we progress, as we get the roles played out and know who's going to be out there and get the pace of our game [established], that's when I'll start playing. |
San Antonio is the best defensive team in the last seven or eight years. They don't normally change things, but they changed their (defensive) coverage three or four times in that game. It didn't work, unfortunately. |
So maybe sometimes we can run the offense through him at the 2. |
Somebody asked me, 'How many times are you going to do this. As many as it takes. It's good for the guys, but not for me. |
That one stretch really hurt us. I thought we really lost our intensity and started to watch them play. |
That team is talented. Right now they don't fit, and they've got other issues obviously. |
