It's a brilliant idea. With a few exceptions, most kids (in high school) don't have direction in life and haven't developed a passion yet, except for video games and computers. Fire training is so hands-on and so physical that, for a lot of kids, it's an eye- opener. If they can start developing a passion at 14, 15 or 16 and if it's done right, you can really cause a lifelong love of the fire service. |
