I'm just trying to be Iain's eyes really. |
I'm very hopeful based on what I've seen in practice. The returning guys are stepping forward and the freshmen have jelled right in with the team. I have no fears that we can't do the job. |
I've got a great situation in that they're both quality setters and if one guy is having a bad night, I can plug the other guy in and not worry. They've shown they're able to communicate with the rest of the team. |
It isn't lost on me that sailing with guys like Iain is pretty awesome, ... Ben's sailing with me in Sardinia. It's good that we all get on; it's a big contrast to British sailing 20 years ago. |
It's entirely appropriate that we get to sail Dennis Conner and Stars & Stripes on the first day...Britain, who hasn't been in the Cup for 15 years, sails against the team that hasn't missed one. |
Maybe the mistakes have looked worse because they led to goals. |
Pedro is a great passer and is very scrappy. He does the kinds of things that wins matches, but don't show up in the scoring. He's a workhorse. |
Ryan's got an effective jump serve and he's a solid blocker. He's definitely the guy who should be our top scorer. |
The chance to sail with Iain is very attractive, a big draw. |
The core fully split - you could put your hand in there when you were sailing along. |
The designers and builders have done a great job completing GBR 78 so quickly and it will be a great boost to the team to have her out here for the start of racing, |

There's a number of errors ranging from where the course area was, the length of the course, as well as procedural errors...it's probably the first America's Cup race that's gone around an island since 1851. |
We were about to sell it. The car did not run - it must have sprouted wings and flown. |
