I'd like to work, but with how I am - I can't. I could feel everything (including my health) was running out, and I just couldn't do it anymore.

Thankfully there are a lot of nice churches around.

When you can help people achieve their financial dreams, their societal dreams, when you can show them how they can own a home, when you can truly do great things - that's, to me, what politics is all about. Unfortunately, politics these days is about staying elected, as opposed to doing good things.

If the Earth got invaded by another planet or an alien race, we would all come together. Whether it's Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland, whether it's Israel and Palestine, whether it's black and white, whether it's north and south, whether it's Iran versus Iraq - we would forget our differences, because we now have a common goal... to beat the enemy.

I'm not sure what I want to do when I grow up, or if I'm sure I ever want to grow up. I'm sure there are people that wish I would, but you know, my mom will get over it.

We were talking, we had a table read or something, he said, "Jerry, how are you with horses?" I said, "I grew up with them all my life." He said, "Oh, that's great!" I said, "Yeah, they all had cops on them".

I call it like I see it. I don't hold back when it comes to being candid on the hot issues.

There are so many talented actors in Hollywood that never get a chance to work, and it's not because they can't do it - it's because it's a very uncomfortable, unsettling, non-theatrical environment to get a job.

I feel the same way about politics as I do about acting. It's not about me being a Congressman - it's about what I can do when I'm there. It's how I can help somebody. That's what it's all about. And I've been having fun along the way. Because if you're not having fun, why do it?

We have common enemies today. It's called childhood poverty. It's called cancer. It's called AIDS. It's called Parkinson's. It's called Muscular Dystrophy.

If you're not having fun - I don't care what you're doing - don't do it. Move on. Find something else, life's too short.

If you're just sucking eggs and it's not working out for you - then find something that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning, hit the floor running, and say, "Damn, this is going to be a great day." Because when you wake up in the morning, you're already ahead of the game.

I believe in financial retirement. I don't necessarily believe in physical retirement.

Money is only a vehicle that provides you with options, and I say there's only one thing that money can't buy - poverty.

If somebody was smart enough right now to come out and say, "You know what, we've got the people, we've got the money, we've got the time - let's cure cancer by the end of the decade." If we don't try, shame on us - because we can do it.
