I won't tolerate guys walking to the football. Everybody runs to the football. We're going to get a group of smart players who are going to do things right.

I'm not used to this. I was a head coach for [six] years, so it's different taking a step back. But everybody tells me it'll be a good process, that it's not as stressful as the other one and there's a lot less to do. And it is. I've got a lot more free time now.

At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

Right now we are a bad football team. If anybody on this football team quits, or doesn't practice hard, or play hard, I promise you I will cut them.

In a matter of three series, we had a poor planned kickoff, and they get the ball at midfield. They go deep for a big play the next play. They score a touchdown. They kickoff to us, on the return we get a holding penalty. We get the ball out on a reverse and we fumble. In a matter of a five-minute span we gave up 17 points, really 21 points.

We went with the quarterback sneak, we just ran it out of a different formation, and we didn't get it, ... We panicked and didn't execute well enough.

It started, really, in Pittsburgh. They got an advantage on a lot of football teams. They were so much stronger (in the) '70s, late '70s, early '80s. They're the ones who kind of started it.

No, they said he was over. To be honest with you, now a days I don't know what a touchdown is, when a completion is, when you hit the quarterback, what a flagrant foul is. I don't have a clue anymore and I don't think [the officials] do.

We had chances to make plays and we just didn't step up. They made plays when they had to, that's what it boiled down to.
