That's what happens. We were running around. They were worried about the referees and the other team and not playing our game. We finally settled down in the third period and started playing hockey. |
The first period was a great response from last night. That was exactly what we were looking for. We needed to get on the board first. We were hoping that something like that would happen tonight. |
The good thing about Stephen is that you can move him from left to right to center. You could put him on the penalty kill. He can play a regular shift. You can play him on the power play if you have to. You know what you're going to get from him every shift. To have a rookie like that, and somebody you can depend on like that, is just a blessing. They don't come along every day. |
The sooner the better. We're looking at the division and then right after that we look at the conference. We still have a lot of work cut out for us. We're looking to go out, clinch tomorrow and get the first one wrapped up. The conference is right there. |
The way the series has gone, it's pretty evenly matched. That's why there's so many one-goal games. |
There's no excuse. We've got to play with more passion, with more urgency than them. We didn't generate a whole lot. Our power play is struggling so bad right now. We're not getting any chances on that. |
They played patient. When we turned over the puck they made great rushes all night long. Dany made some great saves out there on some of those rushes. We've got to be better. We can't turn the puck over as much as we did. |
They've been very hot, of late. I really haven't seen them this year, so I really don't know what to expect. I'm sure they weren't playing that well (when the Penguins beat them 6-0). I expect a team that's going to work hard, be very skilled, and we've got to be ready for them. |
We can't go in trying to take any team lightly. We're in position to pretty much control our own destiny right now and we've got to take advantage of it. |
We like that fact. We have played pretty well at home. You always look forward to playing in front of your hometown crowd. A lot of the boys seem to respond to it. We feel comfortable in our own building. |
We may break out one or two games here or there, but we really haven't had a steady flow of goals through the course of time that I've been here, anyway. I thought we had a lot of opportunities. Their goalie played very well. |
We played a good game. You lose and what do you do? You don't change a lot. It's unfortunate. First period, we maybe made one mistake and it goes in our net. |
We weren't ready for the game and they were. You've got to give them credit. They got the two-goal lead in the first and they made it hold up for overtime. We knew (Philadelphia) hasn't been playing well. That's when teams are going to come out hard. We warned the guys beforehand. Then we came out and didn't compete in the first period. They did. |
We'd have liked to win that first one in our own building. Get a little bit of momentum going. Unfortunately it didn't work out. |
We'd struggled all night (on the power play). We seem to move the puck pretty well, we just don't get anything accomplished. Finally in overtime we get one. |
