I struck out two of the guys on two sinkers in, looking, and the other was on a splitter. I didn't make any pitches like that last year. It's just one start. I understand that. |
I think every pitcher, if you don't go out there expecting to win, expecting to do well, then you shouldn't be going out there, ... You've got to be ready for these situations and you've got to thrive on it. You want to go out there for the big game. |
I think I'm where I want to be, especially physically. I wasn't tired at all in the fourth inning. I didn't feel as good today as I did my first two starts, but I had a great curve ball today, throwing it for strikes. |
I think it's ... when the trade happened, maybe, I think it was kind of a fresh start. I'm excited to go to a team that is so committed to winning. |
I think it's unfortunate that the public thinks all of us are on steroids. It's the wrong image. I'm so happy we have testing this year. I think it will wipe this out. |
I was fine, ... There was no soreness, no nothing. |
I'd rather see the guy out there now. He always did an unbelievable job as a closer, but you never exactly knew how he was going to get there. He'd get it done, but he did it differently. Now Izzy takes the approach that it's fine to throw three pitches and get three outs. That helps him be more durable. |
I'm looking for someone who is going to be open to the public. It's got to be black and white with us. That seems to be something that a lot of politicians just don't understand. Mayor Munson, quite honestly, could have been more open. |
I'm making better pitches. It's the little things. |
I'm making better pitches. It's the little things. Last year I fell behind a lot and made mistakes over the plate. I'm making better pitches this year. I'm making the pitches when I need to. It's helped me a lot so far. |
I'm not going to get that worried about giving up a hit, |
I'm not thinking about it as the season's going on, but when you get it and his is over now, sure I take pride in that, ... Everyone wants to be consistent and he's the perfect example. |
If I have a bad outing or even a good one, it's over with, it's done with good or bad, and move on. You can't sit here and dwell on it and worry about it and get frustrated about it. You move on to next year and get yourself more prepared. |
Is this the place I want to be? Sure. But it's not something I can control. It's not something I'm going to worry about. I want to worry about games and getting ready for the season. |
It looks pretty cute. I couldn't throw (Friday), there's no way. |
