Like I've told our players, it's not so much about who you're playing, as it is about you,

Marshall always does it and Marshall wasn't in the game. That's an issue for me. We always practice it with Marshall and he's supposed to be in the game. There was some confusion there. That's a coaching deal all the way.

Marshall assured me he'll be all right, and when Marshall says that, he'll be OK, ... I'm not going to worry about it until he tells me I should worry.

Marshall said to me privately, 'It's time, I think.' I said, 'Time for what?' And he said, 'He needs to be the featured guy. And whatever role you want me to do, I'd be happy to do it. It's going to be tough, but I think I can really help him and still have some value for this team.' I couldn't believe it, ... But that's Marshall. So I got to thinking about it more and more, and I said, 'We're going to do this.'

Marshall's been banged up the last few weeks, and been very sore. We didn't manage him very well. We've probably played him more than we should have.

Matt was exceptional today, best I've ever seen him play. He's playing remarkable football. He's completely given himself over to that coaching staff.

Mike Furrey's really played well. He's going to factor in on defense, particularly our nickel stuff.

My visit with Rod was exceptional. I think he's going to be a superstar. Everybody's got talent, nice facilities and all those kinds of things, but who you work with is critical and that was a big plus.

No. As long as Kurt's ready to play. ... If [Warner] looks like he looked when he was going good, [it'll be him]. I don't know how else to put it. If he's making the throws that he's always made and his accuracy and his arm strength are sharp, then he's ready to go.

Now, you can do that in the preseason and not have it cost you anything. So what it becomes is a catalog on both sides of the ball that you draw from for the rest of the season.

Obviously this is something that we feel like he was able to fight through and move on with his life, and if we didn't feel good about that, then obviously there would have been a lot more hesitation if we were to take him.

Obviously, he's going to play. He's going to be hurting during the week, and it's going to be hard for him to move around for a while, but as each week goes by he'll get better and better.

Obviously, I took the job. It just didn't work out with the money.

Obviously, I wasn't what Mickey was looking for. I thought it was a terrific situation. I was very impressed with their front office and how they do things. And I think (the interview) went very well.

Oh yeah, Alex will play this weekend. Absolutely. He needs to play now. He'll have plenty of time to get himself ready.
