We need a No. 2 guy to move the ball around, hit and run and steal, and he seems like he has some of those qualities. But we'll have to see in the spring. If he's not a good guy for that, he'll hit lower in the order. |
We need some experience in the bullpen, and he brings that. He's certainly somebody we wanted, and we're tickled that he's still going to be with us. |
We need to get his bat going. It isn't fair to the team. We need his offense. We will bring him along at first base. |
We needed some pitching. We have two guys that weren't going to be available for two to three days, at least. With a six-man staff that puts you in a tough situation if you don't have somebody that can go. |
We really were hoping he would do a little better defensively, and he did early on. |
We really were hoping he would do a little better defensively, and he did early on. But as the games got going, he'd make a mistake and let it compound. Consequently he'd be thinking so much about his fielding that his hitting suffered. And then he had both things going against him, and neither one of them was up to standard. |
We still felt we needed some (bullpen) insurance. We just needed another pitcher. |
We were ready to make a move. We need some help. |
We will monitor him and bring him back at the end when he's ready. We definitely feel like he's going to play again this year. I'd like to see him get back for the last 10 days, anyway. |
We'd like to see him get in there tomorrow to DH, and if it worked out OK, fire him again in there Tuesday (in Oakland). |
We'll mix and match a little bit. |
We'll probably give him the rest of the weekend off. There is no sense in taking a chance if he's not 100 percent. We want to make sure he's good and strong by Tuesday. |
We'll take it easy and ease him into it. He'll be in great shape. We don't want to push him. |
We'll take it easy, let him ease his way into it. We'll just move it along at his pace. |
We'll wait and see how it reacts in the morning. He's a pretty tough kid. |
