Churchill Downs is excited to bring the Kentucky Derby post-selection show to Derby fans, downtown workers and residents, and visitors to our community at Fourth Street Live.

We're certainly on a very limited timetable, and it's getting very late into the session. Ideally, we would have made more progress earlier. We're continuing to hope that we can have a level playing field compared to bordering states West Virginia, Indiana, and non-bordering states Iowa and Delaware.

Until I see what his plan is, it's hard to comment.

But I think in whole, the industry has a strong coalition and will continue to persevere and try to pass various types of legislation with gaming at the top of the priority list.

I think we've made some progress from the educational standpoint. But certainly if you don't get the ball across the goal line, a three- or four-yard gain is little consolation.

The Derby and Oaks fans from throughout our region and across the United States, along with those that join us from around the world readily and easily adjusted to the major changes in our security and hospitality procedures when they were implemented four years ago. These procedures are now a regular part of the Derby and Oaks experience, and many patrons have told us that they enjoy these marvelous days of racing more now than ever before.

Our new era at Churchill Downs got off to a spectacular start last year with a record-smashing Kentucky Derby Week and we look forward to welcoming our fans back for another exciting spring meet. That Derby Week momentum carried on through a terrific spring meet in which fans got to know and love our new facilities. Our staff is working hard to present those fans not only with the finest racing facilities in America, but to provide unparalleled guest service as they enjoy the strongest and most competitive daily racing program in the country.

It was primarily envisioned for medical students, and they didn't use it,

The program has grown under Student Government progress, ... With transportation on campus, the transportation fee has allowed the program to be used somewhat.

We're there to protect them and primarily to keep them from getting a DWI, ... But, they got to be responsible to call us.

Our interest will be over time,

Pat Day is not only a great jockey and outstanding athlete, he is one of our community's most respected and beloved citizens and a wonderful role model. Few people wear the label of 'legend' as comfortably as Pat and Churchill Downs is delighted to offer this opportunity for our community to say 'thank you' for all that he has given us through the years. We look forward to joining Pat's family, fans and friends from throughout our community and the country in this celebration of his incredible career on 'Pat's Day' at Churchill Downs.

We still have much to do in the aftermath of the tornado, but we are confident that Ellis Park will be in good shape for its 2006 meet.

Everybody likes to start the New Year out with a little good news.

This is an issue that could bring $400-$450 million to the state of Kentucky, not just to the particular locales that the racetracks are in, but to communities across the state.
