Terry Francona
He came in today and thinks he's like a week away. The other day, I thought he was going to retire.

He came, got outs and gave us a chance to win. Then he went back out and ended up throwing 30, 31 pitches, and located pretty well. He had some good changeups. It's a positive step in the right direction.
He can run into a problem, all hitters do. But I think the best chance for him to do some damage is to play a little bit.
He competed right away and handled everything. Nothing seems to shake this kid.
He competes well. This kid is going to be fun, he's going to do well.

He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. But he's too good a pitcher not to be good. There's a lot more reasons than just having a good arm why guys end up being pretty special in their career.

He didn't let them spread it out (after falling behind 5-0). As far as he goes, I think he looked more confident. The velocity of his fastball is fine. Executing it and throwing his other pitches, I thought he got a lot better.
He didn't look comfortable. To me it was a spring training day. The wind is [blowing hard]. It just didn't look like he got that three-hour ride out of his system.
He doesn't have to go out and throw a two-hitter on opening day, but he's healthy. ... He's strong as a horse and he's going to compete.
He doesn't need to change things. He just needs to tighten up the breaking ball, start locating his fastball and Bronson will be just fine.
He feels it. I think it's a spot, not an entire area, which I think is somewhat good news. I don't think he's going to be available the next couple of nights. I don't think this is something that turns out to be a couple of weeks. We'll continue to evaluate it.

He gathered himself and went out there and pitched pretty well. Once you give up five, if they peck away at all, it makes it tough to win.
He gives us multiple innings in a tie game, and then with a one-run lead. You've got to have good stuff. But the amount of poise he showed, the way he competes. ... God, that's so big for us.
He got himself in a predicament where he felt threatened and went on the offensive, but he paid the price and it's over. He got himself in a spot where he was uncomfortable and it happened. He served his suspension and it's over.
He got Javy, who had really been tough on him. We got (his first outing) out of the way, which I think is necessary.
